Class Proceedings

Stevensons LLP is investigating a potential class action lawsuit concerning front-loading automatic washing machines.  Certain front loading washing machines may suffer from design or manufacturing defects that lead to the formation of mould and mildew on the inside of the machines, which can damage clothes and produce foul and noxious odours.

 In particular, the following models are being investigated:

• Whirlpool Duet
• Whirlpool Duet Sport
• Whirlpool Duet HT
• all LG front loading washing machines 

If you or someone you know has experienced mouldy residue in your washing machine, or have noticed a musty or mouldy smell in your washer or on clothing after washing, please contact us.

Maple Leaf Foods The time (Claims Period) for submitting a claim form ended on November 2, 2009. The Claims Administrator will now process all claims. Then the Claims Administrator will report to the courts as soon as practicable. The courts will hopefully authorize prompt payment of at least part of the approved claims. After all initial claims have been dealt with, there may be a second payment at a later date to ensure maximum compensation in accordance with the settlement agreement. The secondary payment (if any) may not be made for up to two years to allow fair payment to all class members.
